After our trip to the Batu Caves, we went to the Royal Selangor factory. The Royal Selangor is a company that sells and makes pewters. Today, this is one of Malaysia's top exported goods. The Royal Selangor has been around since 1880 and since then, it has widened its product ranges from pewter cups and utensils to trophie, home decorations and even jewelry. They also make customized utensil accessories for several luxury brands such as Veuve Clicquot Ponsardin, Dom Perignon and Krug.
Currently, The Royal Selangor holds the record for the world's largest Pewter ever made so it is no surprise to learn that Royal Selangor is one of the largest Pewter manufacturer in the world!
Chek out the amount of tin they've used for their products over time!
After the museum tour, we were taken to the factory where they had workers demonstrate how some of their products were made. Royal Selangor not only made pewter cups and utensils but also trophies for several competitions and awards for different events! They also made a few jewelries and even a really expensive peacock decor made of Gold and precious stones!
Stay tuned for my next travel post! I promise I'll post it soon! :)
